How Long Does the Solar Panel Installation Take?

For a typical UK home a full solar installation is 1–2 days on site. Here's the day-by-day breakdown of what's actually happening.

Most domestic solar installs are completed in one or two days on site. Larger systems, in-roof installs or systems with battery storage can take a little longer.

Day 1 — the roof

Scaffold access, roof preparation, mounting rails, then the panels themselves. DC cabling is dropped into the loft space ready for the electrical work.

Day 2 — inverter, battery and commissioning

Inverter and (if fitted) battery are wired in, isolators are installed, and we tie in to your consumer unit. Full testing, commissioning, MCS certification and a walkthrough of the monitoring app.

You lose power briefly during the tie-in — normally under an hour.
