How Much Does it Cost to Install an EV Charger at Home in the UK?

Most home EV charger installs come in between £900 and £1,400 fully fitted. Here's what drives the price and what a good quote should include.

EV charger installation costs depend on the charger you pick and the electrical layout of your home. As a rule of thumb, a straightforward install is £900–£1,400 including the unit.

What's included in a good quote

  • The charger itself (unit brand and model clearly stated).
  • Cable run up to a reasonable distance (usually 10–15m).
  • Isolator, Type A + 6mA DC RCD (or equivalent) protection.
  • DNO notification and Electrical Installation Certificate.

What can push the price up

Long cable runs, chasing cables into walls, trenching under a driveway, or an earthing arrangement that needs remedial work. We survey and give a fixed price before we start.
