Every MCS-certified installer is required to assess your roof for structural suitability before installation. In most cases that's a visual and technical survey by our surveyor, not a full engineering report.
When a formal structural survey is worth it
- Older properties (pre-1919) with lightweight timbers or unusual roof structures.
- Barn conversions or extensions with non-standard trusses.
- Roofs that already show visible sag or damage.
- In-roof installs where tiles are removed and panels replace them.
What we check as standard
Rafter size and spacing, tile type and condition, batten condition, and access. We won't install on anything we're not confident is sound — we'd rather turn a job away than get it wrong.
